Six degrees of separation from random encounters (Taken with instagram)
at the intersection of interjecting points of blurry temporary interest through many passing beautiful eyes.
Sometimes, you have to be at your most sick to feel truly alive
Sleep deprived, running on coffee and indecision
A bad decision made twice, sometimes weeks, months, years apart
Waking up to an ancient empty voice cutting you down
It’s strange how quickly that can suck the joy out of your discovery
Of whatever
Only to be brightened by a stranger
And the promise of nothing other than hope
As you drive down these same roads twice in 24 hours
If you take that hope for granted, you can push too far
Wander too much
For the sake of new experiences
And when you get those new experiences
Don’t forget you’ve already been here before
Sometimes, you have to visit false hope twice
And that kindness can sometimes be weak
Kindness can sometimes be worse than the truth
And kindness can overrule your values
And border on nefarious innocence
Giving another human being hope
Yet this scenario has none, because two-sided luck was pushed
Like boundaries broken with assorted beer bottles
As you awkwardly sneak out like the things you said you’d never become
You realize a mild sinking of nothingness
The kind that tenses up your jaw and climbs your throat raw with bile
You realize
Nothing defines you, me, anyone
Not your job, your ex, your friends, your hobbies, your outlook on life
Where you live, the possessions you surround yourself with while
Nothing overrules the fact that
We are animals. Human, yet animals
Things don’t change, we don’t chance it, change, we are what we are
Different colored bags of flesh and bones
Living with free will and free thought
Yet still confined by our vices, shortcomings, hopefulness
There comes a point where you need to stop searching
Because you’ve already found it.
Whatever it is, I guarantee
You’ve already found it.
Yet if you search for those simple pleasures you once enjoyed, you’ll search till you’re old, worn out and tired, used, spit up by the other wolves before you could realize you were a wolf yourself. You tell yourself this again, hope you remember it in whatever capacity of meaning it conveys to you and the world surrounding you. Shower, then sleep somewhere new, to offset sleeping somewhere new. So you can get back to the old, the familiar, the mundane. Back to the life you’ll one day be able to summarize in one well written sentence you hope is remembered and revered forever.

Officer, honestly, all I remember is yelling “I am a Golden God” at the top of my lungs and then jumping off a roof into a swimming pool. That gives me an alibi by default, right?
